Over the past six years, God has led me on a very roundabout, confusing, and often frustrating path. In that time, I have been reluctant to post much on social media. They seem like a place to perform with our opinions or life highlights, and I didn't think I had many wins or highlights worth sharing beyond one-liners.
But even after I was depressed and at times done with myself, the Lord led me to Teaching Truth International, a ministry dedicated to teaching the forgotten pastors who serve in the hidden corners of the world. With TTI, I am able to use the skills, time, and resources that wiser people have invested in me to equip churches who are otherwise unable to access the learning we take for granted in the West.
If you know me and my story, then you know I am the world's fiercest American and most reluctant missionary. But Jesus did make me a decent teacher, and TTI sends teachers like me on short-term teaching trips to Central America, South Asia, East Asia, sub-Saharan Africa, and beyond to pastors eager to receive training in rightly discerning the Word of God.
I am seeking earnestly for partners in prayer, ministry, and financial support. I simply can't do the work alone, even if I would like to "tough it out" solo in my flesh and pride. If you are so led, prayerfully consider supporting my work or passing the need on to pastors and friends you may have. The God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills will provide and His renown will go forth whether we join in or not. The invitation is to join in and experience the joy He has for us.
Most importantly, I beg for your prayers on my behalf. I'm one guy with a lot of work ahead, a lot of financial need, and not a lot of clarity on how to get there. I don't have much to boast in of myself, and no one should get his career advice from me. But I serve a Savior who can perform beyond what I may ever ask, hope, or imagine.
